Our Types of Programs
PinK Girl provides weekly Saturday tutoring, bi-monthly Life Skills (Social-Emotional Learning), and a Summer English Camp for underserved girls attending public schools.
Tutoring &
Academic Counseling
How the Program Works:
Small Class Sizes
Every Saturday, girls in grades 7–12 participate in small-group tutoring, with approximately 25 students per class. Regular attendance and participation are expected.
Who Teaches:
Highly Qualified Teachers
Our teachers are carefully selected for their expertise and hold bachelor's and/or master's degrees in their fields.
How They Learn:
Interactive Learning
We use an engaging, student-centered teaching approach that encourages participation, critical thinking, and collaboration in both academics and Life Skills.
What They Learn:
Academic Support
Girls receive instruction in math, physics, biology, chemistry, economics, history, geography, and spoken and written English.
What Resources They Receive:
Learning Resources
Students have access to a computer lab, library, reading room, study space, and individual mentoring at the PinK Girl Center.
How Families are Involved:
Family Partnership
Home visits help build strong partnerships with families, encouraging consistent attendance and supporting each girl's academic and personal growth.
Life Skills
What Do the Girls Learn?
12 Life Skills Curriculum
Girls participate in 12 Life Skills classes each year in small groups of 15–20 students. Topics include:
Self-esteem, Assertiveness, Decision-making, Stress management, Emotional awareness, Healthy friendships, Conflict resolution, Self-awareness

English Class
Why Does the Camp Exist?
Because It Matters
Beginning in 7th grade, Ethiopia's national exams are administered in English. Many girls receive limited English instruction in public school, creating a significant barrier to academic success.
What Happens at Camp?
Immersive Learning
Summer English Camp helps girls build confidence and fluency through conversation, games, music, drama, and team activities in a fun, supportive environment.
What Impact Does It Have?
Preparing for Success
By strengthening spoken English, girls improve the communication and critical thinking skills they need to succeed on national exams, in college, and in future careers.
Continuing the Journey
The camp also welcomes returning university students, giving them opportunities to strengthen their English while mentoring younger girls..
